Concealment and Identity before the First Aga Khan?

Post by Dovduv »

I am very interested in understanding how the Ismaili community maintained itself, its communal integrity and observances during the centuries before the first Aga Khan when they had to conceal their identities because of persecution. How did the Ismailis maintain their observances and identity during that time when they had to pretend they were not Ismailis?

I think this is a very important subject, and look forward to discussing it. It very hard to imagine how hundreds of thousands of Ismailis for several centuries were able to retain their identity, beliefs and observances while having to hide their being Ismailis.
