Satsang
The name Satsang is now changed to Ilm Majlis. I have attended a few and as mentioned by some ignorant people that it is a kitty party which is totally untrue. Farmans are discussed and interpretations of ginans are discussed in Ilm Majlis. It is held everywhere from India, Pakistan, Canada, America...

JK attire

I agree with some of the earlier comments on this topic because i...

Significance of Darbari - Pir ji Mani
Can someone please explain the significance of Darbari which is kept on Mukhyani/Kamanyani paat. How does it differ from other Mehmanis bought to khane. I do not think the sub continent jamat has got this ritual and so what significance does it hold in our Tariqah.

Here it is: 'Taking as an example scholarship inspired by the Qur’anic message, the Aga Khan recalled the thought of the 11th century poet-philosopher, Nasir Khusraw for whom ‘true jihad is the war that must be waged against the perpetrators of bigotry, through spreading of knowledge that dispels th...

Samir, as i had said earlier you cannot force people in what they believe in. Bringing up my children is my responsibility and no one elses. The farman that I have quoted is an official Farman book by the Tariqah board called 'Precious Gems'. Neither do i think that i am taking the concept in an ext...

I beg to differ with you Samir on the esoteric concept of our faith. I think every farman has got a hidden esoteric meaning. It is upon an individual ismaili whether he wants to take it in an exoteric concept or esoteric concept. And I do not think that people who have this belief (esoteric belief)a...

[quote="Jani"]Undoubtedly our tariqa ia an esoteric one but we must not see everything in a baitun light - after all there is duniya as well not just deen. In fact we overuse the concept; quite often instead of responding to critics of our deen in a reasoned way we dismiss them as not capa...

I haven't got a copy of KIZ. But if I am offered one or can get one I will happily accept it. The only reason is that Tariqah Distribution desks dont have them. Secondly, our Tariqah is an esoteric Tariqah. If an ismaili contemplates the Farmans in an esoteric way there is no question of editing or ...

Your examples are of a time and context that were slightly different than they are now. We don't do battles anymore, and we emphasize more on conquering intellect and helping others. Comment by sunnydays. Intellect has been a part of our Tariqah since the time of Hazrat Ali.So dont tell me that thos...

Spiritually the Imam is aware of everything. <B Hazrat Ali knew that Umar will be the first one to deny what the Prophet wanted after his death. Imam Hussein knew what atrocities are going to be inflicted on him and his followers in the battle of Karbala. Allah knew that Azazil was going to disobey ...

I strongly feel that Farmans should not be edited. If the Imam felt that a part of the Farman needs to be edited he wouldn't have done the Farman in the first place. For example in the London Golden Jubilee Deedar Mowla made the Farmans about the leaders and when it was read out in the Jamatkhana th...
