YAM,
I want to ask a question.There are many ginans of Syed Imam Shah.In some of them word pir is used .He was not pir? Do any one know why in some ginans word pir is used for him for example shah na khat aaviya and in one ginan Pir Sadardin also used the word Pir for himGinan is paachamm thee shah na daal avasshey

The word PIR is not only used for Authoritative Pirs [those in the list of the Asal Dua] but also sometime as a respect title - for example Pir Nassir Khusraw...

in the same way we say "Mowlana Ali" thinking of him as Imam but some people use Mowlana by respect for all kind of people who are not Imam such as "Mowlana Rumi" etc...
