Prem paataann raajaa Mansudh,
tene ghar-e Radeaade raanni 1

In the city of love, the King is mental awareness. In his house resides the Queen - the heart.

Pardhaan panch vir tiyaan rahe,
Raajaa sun vaat karaay 2

The five valiant ministers reside there. They converse with the King.

Raajaa raanni reheve dhiyaan maan,
tenu saami saathe het 3

The King and Queen remain in contemplation and meditation. They have love for God.

Nagar madhe pardhaan parvare,
raajaa sun vaat karaay 4

In the city the ministers rule. They converse with the King.

Raajaa raanni raheve mohol maa,
kare kiriyaa apaar 5

The King and Queen remain in the palace and perform limitless rituals.

Ek man beu-no bandheo,
Gur Shamsh sun raakhiyaa pyaar 6

Single-mindedness of both of them has bound them. They have maintained love for Gur Shamsh.

Avar ichhaa kuchh na ochare,
kare Har-ji sun dhiyaan 7

They do not think of any other matters, Their attention is towards God.

Lok sarve em kahe,
raajaa nun bhagati sun bhaav 8

All the people say thus: the King has love for devotion.

Pardhaan panch vir tiyaan rahe,
nagar raakhiyaa dhaam 9

The five valiant ministers reside there. They have kept the city holy (virtuous).

Raajaa raanni mohol maa vase,
sarve kare pardhaan 10

The King and Queen reside in the palace. All (work) is done by the ministers.

Evi tare nagar vase,
te kaa(n) i kahiyo nav jaay 11

Such is the existence of the city, that nothing (bad) can be told about it.

Pir Shamsh gaaji boliyaa,
paattann tannaa vakhaann 12

Pir Shamsh Gazi (the conqueror) praised the city.

Prem paattann gaam chhe,
te to puri kahevaay 13

The place is the city of love. It is considered as complete and perfect..

Paayo poddo teno parttheyo,
farto kott parkaash 14

It's foundations are solid and it is surrounded by illuminated fortifications.

Nauv darvaajaa ghanna sobhtaa,
teni jugati apaar 15

The nine doors are well blended and it's pathways are limitless.

Kosisaa kungraa ati ghanna,
upar farto chok 16

It is many turrets and niches and surrounded by courtyards above

Boter kotthaa tenaa kahiye,
teni jaddtar apaar 17

It has seventy two buildings which are well connected.

Chaar vajir esi aagale,
tenaa unchaa avaas 18

Four ministers stand in front of them. Their abode is lofty.

Nainne najar ponche nahi,
prem kott prakaash 19

It was so high beyond the vision of the eyes. Such was the illumination of the fort.

Chosatt chok chakvaa sol,
tran-soh saatth bajaar 20

It has sixty-four courtyards and sixteen junctions and three hundred sixty bazaars.

Ati sobhaa nagar tanni,
jaane recheyo kevlaas 21

It is such a splendid city as if it was built on Mt Kevalas.

Anat dal tene aangnne vase,
te paronnlaa ne paas 22

A mighty army is at disposal for the guests.

Nadinaa nir pur vahe,
jalke amijal apaar 23

The water of its rivers flows fully and sparkles endlessly.

Enni pere raajaa raani rahe,
kare raaj prkaash 24

In such a place the King and the Queen reside and enlighten the kingdom.

Saambhlo rikhisar sarvanne,
raajaa raanni naa avaas 25

O believers, listen with your ears the voice of the King and the Queen.

Kamal duwaare raajaa rahe,
teno sambhalo vichaar 26

Kamalaa resides at the residence of the King. Listen about his thoughts.

Paayo poddo teno parttheyo,
mohol mindar darbaar 27

It's foundations are solid and well distributed. In the palace there is festivity.

Raajaa raani temaa vase,
aatthe pohor udaas 28

The King and the Queen reside therein and are in a sad state for 8 pohors (whole day).

Hiraa jaddtar jag mage,
jem suraj prakaash 29

The studded diamonds sparkled bright as the sun.

Tyaare raajaa ey vichaar kariyo,
ne jaaie Gur Nar ne paas;
ubhi ardaas maangiye,
upar mohol avaas 30

Then the King had a thought about going to GurNar (Hazar Imam). We will plead while standing at the top of the palace of residence..

Gur Nar sun gotthaddi,
karie divas ne raat;
evi tare pukaariyo,
tyaare Gur-e saanmbli vaat 31

We will have silent conversations with GurNar day and night. With such pleadings and entreaty, the Guide heard their plea.

Madh-raate utthi kari,
ane vimaaseyaa vir;
parbhaate pargatteyaa,
aaveyaa Shamsh Pir 32

At midnight, having woken up, the valiant one engaged himself in contemplation. When dawn appeared, Pir Shamsh came.

Evi Pir Shamsh vaachaa boliyaa,
ane aavjo amaare gher;
khatt maase bolaav sun,
teni te karjo per 33

Pir Shamash spoke and came to our home. We will call you in six months time and make preparations for it.

Raajaa raanni ubhaa raheyaa,
Pir ne besaaddeyaaa paatt 34

The King and the Queen remained standing and seated the Pir on the paatt (dais).

Charann pakhaariyaa prem sun,
kare bahu ardaas 35

With love they washed his feet and pleaded a great deal.

Ame unneaachaari ati ghanna,
tame puri amaari aash 36

We have been deficient of good deeds a great deal. Fulfill our wishes.

Gur ji bhale kirapaa kari,
padhaariyaa amaare dwaar 37

The Guide became merciful in a beneficent manner and visited our abode.

Maher kari maare maahaav ji,
am-ne aaliyo didaaar 38

The Great One became merciful and granted us the Vision.

Raajaa raanni em boliyaa,
krpaa kari ne dayaal 39

The King and Queen spoke in such wise. Be merciful o the beneficent one.

Dasond fal chhe taayelo,
am-ne lejo ugaar 40

The fruits of Dasond are great, so free us.

Amar fal am-ne aal jo,
paamie pahele paar 41

Grant us timeless fruits, thereby we may attain the other shore.

Gur ji ne raakhiyaa bahu prem sun,
kiriyaa kari re apaar 42

We entertained the Guide with a great deal of love and performed endless rituals.

Gur Nar sun gotthddi ane kariye divas ne raat,
evi tare raakhiyaa taare
raajaa thayaa raliaat 43

We have silent conversations with Hazar Imam day and night. Having maintained this practice the king became happy.

Raajaa kahe raanni saambhlo vaat kahu sati jan,
Gur Nar sun raakhie
aapnne ek man 44

The King tells the Queen: listen to what I have to say o fellow saint. We should maintain full attention for Hazar Imam.

Raanni kahe raajaa saambhlo e chhe atrik vaat,
aapnne Gur Nar ne aaraadhiye thai
rahie tenaa daas 45

The Queen replies: o King listen, this is a very secret matter. We should devote ourselves to Hazar Imam and remain his servants.

Didaar didhaa dayaa kari ane kaaraj
saareyaa aaj,
to kol sahi paar she
ane karse aapnnaa kaaj 46

He granted the Vision, was merciful and fulfilled all the deeds. He will fulfil all promises and will perform all your works.

Raajaa mane raliaat thayaa,
Gur ji kahe ginaan;
raajaa saambhale ek mane,
raanni aavi tiyaa paas 47

The King became elated in his heart. The Guide expounds the Ginan and the King listens with full attention. The queen came there.

Gur ji ginaan tiyaan boliyaa,
saambhlo rikhisar saar 48

The respected Guide expounded the Ginan there. Listen o devotees attentively.

Gur Nar ne vaayke je chaaliyaa,
te potaa pahele paar 49

Whoever proceeded along according to the commands of Hazar Imam attained the other shore.

Addsatth tirath aaviyaa,
Gur charnne jaann 50

They came to the site of the pilgrimage of the sixty eight holy places, when they came at the feet of the Guide.

Kalpe juge thi Gur ji aaviyaa,
anat kalore apaar 51

The respected Guide has come from the age of kalaps. Endless is his artistry and without limits.

Devtaa das avtaar maa,
rup dhariyaa prakaash 52

In the period of ten Divine manifestations, he assumed brilliant forms.

Machh rupe maahaaraaj aaviyaa,
rukh mugat no odhaar 53

In the form of a fish the Great King manifested. The saviour of the (pious) Rukhmugat.

Korab rupe kaachhiyaa,
chaud ratan prakaash 54

In the form of a tortoise he churned the ocean and recovered the fourteen jewels.

Amrikh no udhaar kariyo,
te potaa pahele re paar 55

He rescued (pious) Amrikh who attained the other shore.

Vaaraa rupe bharmanddh garhiyaa,
daaddh viche raakhi saar 56

In the form of the Boar he seized the universe and clenched it with his teeeth.

Narsinh Naraayann avtariyaa,
Pahelaaj laagaa paay 57

In the form of the Man-Lion He manifested. King Pahelaj fell at His feet.

Vaaymann vaanni boliyaa,
odhaariyaa kamlaadhen 58

In the form of a Dwarf, He expounded. Thus freed Kamala.

Farsi chhatthe ferann kari,
kar girhiyaa kamlaa-pati 59

In the form of a Farsiraam, He twirled his axe six times and grabbed Kamla's husband in his hand.

Raam rupe Raavann maario,
Harichandra no jaaleyo haath 60

In the form of Sri Raam, he killed Raavan and held the hand of Harishchandra.

Rohidaas ne ugaariyaa,
Taara raanni saath 61

He saved Rohidas together with Tara Raani.

Karsan ji bhale aaviyaa,
panchaav-linaa puriyaa chir 62

Sri Krishna came for a beneficial purpose. He saved Dhropadi (from physical harassment ) by providing endless clothing.

Aaj kal maanhe avtariyaa,
Ali Mohamad balvant 63

In the present era he has manifested as Ali the mighty and the companion of Muhammad.

Je koi aaraadhe ek mane,
te odhare nar ne naar 64

Whoever worships Him single mindedly, He will deliver him or her.

Pir Shamsh gaaji boliyaa,
raajaa raanni paas 65

Pir Shamsh Gazi spoke in the presence of the king and queen.

Ginaan saambhli Gur tannaa,
taare raajaa ne man vasiyu jaay;
Pir Shamsh ne vinaviye,
ane Gur ji ne laagiye paay 66

Having heard the Ginan of the Guide, the King's heart was convinced. He entreated Pir Shamsh and fell at his feet.

Gur ji tanaa ginaan saambhli,
ane thai chhe antar aash;
jenne deve dayaa kari,
te aalshe amar vaas 67

Having heard the wisdom of the Guide, the desire for the inner mysteries has awakened. To whomever God has bestowed mercy, to this person He will grant eternal abode.

Multaan ne aavjo,
tame raajaa raanni doy;
ame musaafar be muksun,
jyaare khatt maas puraa hoy 68

Come to Multan, both of you King and Queen. I will send two travel guides after the completion of six months.

Em kahi Gur ji utthiyaa,
tiyaan thi Shamsh Pir;
tame aavjo utaavlaa,
tame saabhlo maaraa vir 69

Having said thus, the Guide arose and Pir Shamsh departed from there. Come and visit us soon. Listen o my valiant ones.

Raajaa mane raliaat thayaa,
raanni parte boleyaa saar 70

The King became happy in his heart and turned to the Queen and said in essence:

Gur ji kripaa kari,
aaviyaa vaarohi vaar 71

The Guide has bestowed mercy and has come again and again.

Sati samari ubhaa rayaa,
boliyaa dharam vevaar 72

The pious one remained standing and talked about matters about religion.

Sat panth pramaane chaaleyaa,
japiyaa ajapiyaa jaap 73

They proceeded according to the True Path, and remembered the unspoken word.

Gur Nar naa teddaa aaviyaa,
Gur-e mokliyaa musaak 74

The invitation of Hazar Imam arrived. The Guide sent his disciple to deliver it.

Hukam aaviyo Gur tanno,
have kem rahevaay 75

The order came from the Guide, now how to remain here?

Hukam aaviyo jaan be tanno,
trijo kem levaay 76

The order was for two persons, how can the third person be taken.

Hukam aaviyo ne baalak parvariyo,
saathe kem teddaay 77

The order came and they had a child with them. How can he be carried along with them.

Raanni kahe raajaa saambhlo,
have kem javaay 78

The Queen tells the King: Listen, how can we go?

Radeyaade raanni em ochare,
raay ji karo vichaar 79

The Queen - the heart, spoke in this manner: O King think about it.

Mansudh raajaa em boliyaa,
jaasun dev ne dwaar 80

The King - the mental awareness spoke such wise: We will go to the abode of God.

Baalak podhaariyaa paarnne,
be jannaa thaayaa taiyaar 81

The child was laid down to sleep and the two got ready.

Gur ji sambhaari ne chaaliyaa,
aaviyaa pironnlaa ne paas 82

Remembering the Guide, they left and passed by a guesthouse.

Panth-e tiyaan paalaa paddeyaa,
beu jannaa chaaliyaa jaay 83

The road bruised their feet but they kept walking along.

Ardhi manjil raay ji aaviyaa,
haranni dhavraave baal 84

When the King reached the halfway, a deer was feeding its young.

Baalak dekhi baai ne paanu chaddeyo,
thaan ubhddiyaa jaay 85

When she saw the fawn, her breasts became full of milk and she became distressed.

Thaan ubhddiyaa raanniy piraann tajiyaa,
raajaa kare vichaar 86

She became so distressed that she died. The King thought:

Hukam aaviyo jann be tanno,
have kem rehvaay 87

The order was for two persons, how can I remain?

Chaadar vichaavi baandhi gaantthddi,
chaaliyaa dev ne dwaar 88

Covering her by spreading a piece of cloth and tying a knot, he started walking towards the abode of God

Dev dwaare raay ji aaviyaa,
laagaa Gur ji ne paay 89

The King arrived at the abode of God and fell at the feet of the Guide.

Sonaa ni diviyun tiyaan jagmage,
betthaa tribhovar Shaam 90

Golden lights sparkled and there sat the Lord of the three worlds.

Uttho Rideyaaade raanni ami piyo,
khore dhavraavo baal 91

Wake up o Queen the heart and partake of the Nectar. By laying your child on your lap, feed it.

Gur Nar vachane chaaliyaa,
potaa dev ne dwaar 92

Having proceeded according to the command of Hazar Imam, they reached the abode of God.

Ek man-e aarradhiyo,
Gur Nar sun dhiyaan 93

They worshipped single mindedly and focussed their attention upon Hazar Imam.

Gur Nar ne sharanne rahiye,
to utariye pahele paar 94

If we remain under the protection of Hazar Imam, we will attain the other shore.

Raajaa raanni be odhariyaa,
baalak lidho saath 95

The King and the Queen were both delivered together with the child.

Gur kahe rikhisar saambhlo,
raajaa raanni ni vaat 96

The Guide tells the devotees thus: listen to the story about the King and the Queen.

Pir Shamsh ginaan bhaankhiyaa,
saambhlo gat jamaat 97

Pir Shamsh has taught the Ginan. Listen o gathering of the congregation (gat jamaat)

*Pir Shamsh gaaji ginaan bhaankhiyaa,
te bhaankiyaa tenni-j vaar;
je Gur Nar ne sahi kari maan she,
te paamshe pahele paar 98

Pir Shamsh Gazi (the conqueror) taught the Ginan and he taught it in his time. Whoever accepts Hazar Imam as true, will attain the other shore.

Ginaan vichaaro maaraa munivaro,
ma karo paraay vaat;
ek man-e Shaah ne srevsho,
to paamsho vaikhutth vaas 99

Reflect upon the Ginans o my devotees and do not talk about other matters. If you worship Hazar Imam single mindedly, you will attain the other shore.
