Actualy Gadir e Khum has never been used in our prayers as justification for the Imamat of Hazrat Ali. The daily prayer does not say that Gadir e Khum named the Imam. Hazrat Ali's father who was Imam before him has named his successor. All this is basic kindergarden material for Ismailis who know the Farmans but to shariati outsiders, this may look like a curiosity. Of course it does not devaluate the fact that Hazrat Ali is the first Imam of this Cycle, 77th Patra and Shah Karim is 49th Imam Naklanki Avatar. Hazrat Ali was Imam before Gadir e Khum, since the death of his father, the previous Imam.

It is sad that today so much has been done to degrade the status of Imam. I was reading on the.ismaili that Khudawind is mearly a title and that in our faith it has nothing to do with the concept of divinity. Have these people who write on the.ismaili read Pir Shihabuddin Shah's Risalat e Haqiqati Din?

According to Shia belief, by declaring Hazrat Ali as Mawla after him, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) transferred his own spiritual authority bestowed upon him by Allah to Hazrat Ali, making him — and all the Imams that follow — the Amirul Mu’minin, or Master of the Believers.
Your statement suggests that prior to Prophet Muhammad Ali Murtaza was not Mowla and Amirul Mu'mineen as Prophet bestowed these titles upon Ali Murtaza.
My reading is that there was a transfer of the spiritual authority, the same Noor, from the time of Hazrat Adam, and pre-existing. This same Noor -spiritual Authority & knowledge is now with Imam e Zaman which was transferred on 11 July 1957.

“ each of the six Prophets was accompanied by an Imām who served as his waṣī (legatee): Seth (with Adam), Shem (with Noah), Ishmael (with Abraham), Aaron (with Moses), James (with Jesus) and ‘Alī (with Muhammad). The lineage of Imāms continued from Cycle to Cycle, safeguarding and uphold the esoteric meaning of the prophetic message. The Muḥammadan Revelation was the last of the prophetic revelations and was succeeded by the Muḥammadan Imāmat in the person of Imām ‘Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib and the Imāms of his progeny (who are also descendants of the Prophet Muḥammad) to the present day.  The Qur’ān alludes to this inter-prophetic lineage of Imāms in the following verse:
“Verily God chose Adam and Noah and the progeny of Abraham and the progeny of ‘Imran above all the worlds.  Direct descendents, one after the other, and God is the Hearing, the Knowing.”
– Holy Qur’ān 3:33-34

This is changing slowly, for example by IIS via TheIsmaili -However they say “first” which shows the author/s of this is/ are at best confused and or uncertain.

“ Ghadir Khumm, is “when Prophet Muhammad — based on a DIVINE command from Allah — designated Hazrat Ali as his successor & first in the continuing line of hereditary Imams” https://the.ismaili/eid-e-ghadir

Hazar Imam is well aware of the activities of ITREB, IIS, THE.ISMAILI (the Ismaili official blog). these institutions work under guidance of Hazar Imam.

Allow me to quote two statements one by Mahbub Chatur, he wrote, “ Ghadir Khumm, is “when Prophet Muhammad — based on a DIVINE command from Allah — designated Hazrat Ali as his successor & first in the continuing line of hereditary Imams”

Second statement by Kmaherali, quite few times in his postings he wrote," Concepts change according to changing times ".

The concepts don't change but the articulation of the concept can change according to context. Hence the concept of the eternity of Imamat does not change. What changes is the way it is articulated. Hence today in a zaheri context as articulated in our constitution the Imam inherited the role of the Prophet and hence the event of Ghadir is significant. According to the Ginanic context Imamat is the manifestation of God hence Ghadir is not mentioned in the Ginans and 50 years back we never celebrated Ghadir e khum as Eid.

Also keep in mind that the constitution states that Islam is the final revelation not the first. Hence there were previous revelations as well through Prophets and Imams . In the Farman below, there is a connection between Allah and Imamat as an eternal institution.

I say this today, because twentyfive years have gone by, and some of You have referred to Me as the Imam of the atomic age. But I am the 49th
Imam and there will be Imams in the future, and the age will not be atomic,it may be the space age, and maybe it will be further than the space age
but all that means is that Allah's presence is everywhere, all the time. (Nairobi, Kenya.Tuesday, October 5, 1982. Parklands.)

Let me assure you that in early 50's Ismailis in Pakistan started celebrating Eid Milladun Nabi as well Eid e Ghadir.
It is strange that in Ginans there is mention of Eid e Millad but not Eid e Ghadir!! Noor e Muhammadi and Noor e Ali existed since primordial times simultaneously.

Islam is Natural and Universal Deen. It exists since the time when first Adam set foot on planet Earth. With different Prophets came different revelations according to changing times. The final revelation came through Prophet Muhammad. Muslims are bound to follow final revelation mentioned in Quran. Being as Muslims Ismailis follow final message of Allah and Hazar Imam is present to interpret message of Allah for worldly and spiritual matters.

No doubt there will be Imams in future but In the above mentioned Farman Hazar Imam said," ALLAH'S PRESENCE IS EVERY WHERE, ALL THE TIME ". He has not mentioned about any connection with Allah. Hazar Imam has made comparison of different ages in which Imam can be referred as 'Imam of the atomic age, or laser age, or space age or billion miles away some where in deep deep space with some different name".

The concepts don't change but the articulation of the concept can change according to context. Hence the concept of the eternity of Imamat does not change. What changes is the way it is articulated.
Let us take example of concept about God. Historically in the beginning humans worshiped many Gods at a time. That changed to Trinity in ancient religions, that changed to Duality, and finally to monotheism with other isms. So concept about God kept changing. In Ismailism first it was a simple concept then in Fatimid era changed to Universal Intellect, Universal Soul and Matter influenced by neo platonic philosophy. Again in Ginanic era the concept of God changed to manifestation theory. What I understand is that in different times concepts kept changing.

Articulation is an act of expressing. Now if every Ismaili starts articulating Quran and Farman, there will be chaos, disorder, fighting, I am right you are not. That's why in Ismailism it is only Imam of the time who will interpret faith, and make Farmans according to changing times.

“ ILM An Arabic term meaning "knowledge."
Muslims view the search for knowledge as a way to more deeply understand and serve God's creation.

In Shia Islam, it also refers to the belief that each Imam-of-the-Time is granted divinely-inspired knowledge, through which he (IMAMS) interprets the faith for changing contexts and guides his followers according to the time and place that they live in.

Farmans are Imams divinely inspired, knowledge ILM TALIM TAWIL of and from the Quran which are to be shared and implemented, & not to be blocked.

PROPHET - FARMAN - GHADIRE-E-KHUMM"

Post by mahebubchatur »

The Prophet's Ghadir Khumm speech concluded with him saying "Do I not have more authority (awla) over you than your own souls?" In this statement, the Prophet was paraphrasing Holy Qur’an 33:6 - “The Prophet has more authority (awla) with the Believers than their own souls” (al-nabiyyu awla bi-l-muʾminin min anfusikum). Then, the Prophet said “He whose Mawla I am, this ᶜAli is his Mawla” (man kuntu mawlahu fa-hadha ᶜAliyyun mawlahu).

The word ‘mawla’ in the Ghadir Sermon cannot mean ‘friend’ or ‘client’ as some Sunnis claim because the Prophet himself set up the context of his meaning of the word mawla by two clear indicators:

There are mny meanings of word MOWLA in Arabic used in different ways in Arabic/Muslim literature. It means; Lord, Administrator, Leader, Owner, Friend, Master, Patron, Helper, Guardian, Protector, Trustee, Benefactor, Follower, Slave, Client, Naseer, Heir.

Allah calls Himself 'AL MOWLA' means the master, the protector on many occasions in Quran.
Quran says; ni’mal Mowla wa ni’mal Naseer, refers to the fact that Allah is the excellent Protector and excellent Helper. The same wordings are used in another Ayah: He is your protector; and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper [Quran, 22:78]

Celebrate Eid al-Ghadir With Devotional Songs

Celebrate Eid al-Ghadir With Devotional Songs

12 Song Videos

Eid al-Ghadir is an Islamic commemorative holiday and is considered to be among the significant holidays of Shia Muslims. The Eid is held on 18 Dhul-Hijjah to commemorate the event when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is said to have appointed Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS) as his successor according to Shia belief.

Celebrate Eid al-Ghadir with a special playlist of devotional songs on the JollyGul Main Channel. Link below.

Ghadīr Khumm was a gathering of Muslims to attend a sermon delivered by Prophet Muhammad on 16 March 632 CE. The gathering took place by the ghadir (pool) in the wadi of Khumm, located near the settlement of al-Juhfa on the path between Mecca and Medina, where Prophet Muhammad halted the large caravan of Muslims who had accompanied him on the Farewell Pilgrimage, his only Hajj ritual.

In the sermon, made shortly before his death in June 632, Prophet Muhammad declared in favor of Ali ibn Abi Talib, his cousin and son-in-law, uttering the words, "He whose mawla I am, Ali is his mawla."

Mawla is a polysemous Arabic word, which can mean 'patron', 'master', 'leader', or 'friend', depending on its context. Shia Muslims believe this sermon to be a clear designation of Ali to lead the Muslim community after Prophet Muhammad and celebrate the anniversary of the event as Eid al-Ghadir. The Sunni community, meanwhile, regards the declaration as a simple affirmation of Prophet Muhammad's esteem for Hazrat Ali.

JollyGul has prepared a short video (link also below) about the differences in interpretation among the two groups and calls for tolerance, understanding, and unity in the Muslim Ummah.

Farman 13, Mumbai 14 April 1893 Friday
(Kalam-E-Imam-e Mubin)
Haq Mowlaanaa dhanni salaamat daataar sarkaar aagaa Sultaan
Muhammad Shaah Haazar Imaam-e farmaavyun:
Haq Mawlana dhanni salaamat daataar sarkaar aagaa Sultan Muhammad Shah Hazar Imam
made the following Farman:
Aattlaa divaso amo-e tamne biji hadiso sambhrraa-vi, parantu ek

I have narrated many Hadith to you in the past few days, but I had left aside one for
you; that hadith I am going to tell you now.
Jyaare Nabi Muhammad Mustafaa, aakhari haj yaane chheli haj

When Prophet Muhammad Mustafaa, went for last haj, that is, the final haj
(pilgrimage) and after performing the haj, when he was returning, he arrived half-way
at a place called "gadire khum". At that time, people who had were ahead and
people of the caravan who were behind all gathered at that place.
Hazrat Nabi Muhammad Mustafaa-e teo-ne farmaavyun ke, have
amaaro aakhari vakhat najik chhe, yaane have ame thoddaa divas aa
duniyaa-maa chhi-e, maatte tamo-ne farmaavi-e chhie ke, aaj divas

Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa made a Farman that now my last time is near,
that is, now I am in this world for only a few days. Therefore, I am making a Farman
to you that, until this day, I have truthfully relayed all the Farmans of God to you. Tell
me if this is true or not. Then, all the people replied "yes”, you have told us all God's
Farmans".
Paygambar-e farmaavyun ke, tame Khudaa paase e vishe amaari

aap-shun ke, tamo-e badhaa farmaano amne sambhrraavyaa chhe;
Prophet made a Farman that will you give evidence for me on this topic meaning
give testimony that I have told you the true Farmans of God. At that time all the
people said, yes we will give testimony in front of God that you have told us all the
Farmans of God.
Baad Mowlaanaa Haazar Imaam-e farmaavyun:
Then Mawlana Hazar Imam said:
Aa hadis-ne sunni-o pann kabul raakhe chhe; aa hadis sunni-ni

Even the Sunnis accept this hadith. This hadith was written by a Sunni. This hadith is
hand written by a well-known and able Sunni by the name of Zohoraa. That is the
one I am going to tell you now.
Paygambar-e farmaavyun ke, ame tamaaraa Paygambar hataa, evi

Paygambar kari-ne mokalyaa chhe;
The Prophet made a Farman that, will you give testimony that I was your Prophet. At
that time, they said that, truly you were our Prophet; of this we will give testimony.
The Prophet made a Farman that I too am testifying that I am your Prophet and Lord
of the Universe has sent me as your Prophet.
Tyaar baad Paygambar-e farmaavyun ke, amaari paachharr be chijo

raheshe;
Thereafter, the Prophet made a Farman that I leave behind two things after me.
These two things will continue till Day of Judgment and will remain together until
Houz-e-Kausar. The Prophet made a Farman that: What these two things are: one is
my Successor (Jaanashin) and second one is the Quran. These two things will
always continue until the Day of Judgment and will remain together until Houz-e-
Kausar.
Nabi Muhammad Mustafaa-e te vakhte Hazrat Ali-no haath pakddi-

Prophet Muhammed Mustafaa, at that time, took Hazrat Ali’s hand and made a
Farman to all the people gathered that after me my successor is Murtaza Ali. Anyone
who will love Murtaza Ali will always remain with Murtaza Ali until Houz-e-Kausar.
Mowlaanaa Haazar Imaam-e te vakhte be parvato-naa naamo lai
farmaavyun:
Mawlana Hazar Imam at that time mentioned the names of two mountains and made a Farman:
Jettlun e be parvato vache chhettun chhe, tettli motti hoje kousar
chhe;
Houz-e-Kausar is as vast as the distance between these two mountains.
Baad Mowlaanaa Haazar Imaam-e farmaavyun:
Then Mawlana Hazar Imam made a Farman:
Hoje kousar-naa ek kinaaraa-thi bijaa kinaaraa sudhi evi chijo chhe
ane te evi chamke chhe ane teni roshni evi thaay chhe ke jevaa

chhe ane te chamke chhe ne roshni thaay chhe;
From one end of the Houz-e-Kausar to the other end, there are such things and they
shine and their (emanating) light is like that of stars in the sky. Just as the stars shine
in all (four) directions in the sky, there are stars in all (four) directions of Houz-e-
Kausar and they shine and there is light.
Baad Mowlaanaa Haazar Imaam-e farmaavyun:
Then Mawlana Hazar Imam made a Farman:
Tyaar baad Paygambar-e teo-ne farmaavyun ke amaaraa Jaanashin

Khudaa paase gavaahi aapjo ke, ame Murtazaa Aline amaaro vasi
nimi gayaa hataa ane tamaaraa upar muki gayaa hataa;
Thereafter the Prophet made a Farman that I am appointing upon you, my successor
and trustee Murtaza Ali. Of this, you will testify in front of God that I had appointed
Murtaza Ali my trustee and had left as my successor to look after you.
Teo-e kahyun ke, albat ame gavaahi aap-shun ane kabul karshun ke,
tame amaaraa upar Murtazaa Ali-ne tamaaraa vasi tarike nimi

They said that surely we will give testimony and accept that you had appointed
Murtaza Ali as your successor (trustee) upon us.
E vakhte Murtazaa Ali-naa ban-ne haath pakddi ubhaa kari-ne

At that time, the Prophet took both hands of Murtaza Ali and stood him up and made
a Farman: I am the Messenger of God and my successor (trustee) is this Mawla Ali.
'Whoever accepts me as master, Ali is his master too'.
Paygambar-e farmaavyun ke, tame kabul karjo ane khudaa paase

The Prophet made a Farman that, you should accept and testify in front of God. At
that time, all the people accepted.

First and foremost Umar Ibne Khitaab stood up and said to Mawla Murtaza Ali that
‘Felicitations! Felicitations! O Ali Ibn-e Abu Taalib, congratulations to you!’ Saying
this, he took (Mawla Ali’s) hand and gave his allegiance. Thereafter all the people
gave their allegiance.
Paygambar ane Moulaa Murtazaa Ali tyaan-thi potaa-ne makaan-e

motto maannas hato, tene ‘gadir-e khum’ maa baneli binaa-ni khabar
padd-taa, te potaa-ne makaane-thi untt upar besi-ne Paygambar
paase aavyo ane kahyun ke, tame-e amne khudaa-naa je farmaano
sambhrraavyaa ane teni gavaahi purvaa amne kahyun, jethi amo-e
kabul karyun ke tame saachaa chho;
From there, the Prophet and Mawla Murtaza Ali arrived at their home where an Arab
named Ibrahim Ibne Haaras, who was a well-known person, lived. Having learned of
the events of ‘Gadir-e-Khum’, he left his house and rode on a camel to come the
Prophet and said that you told us the Farmans of God and asked us to testify which
we accepted that you are true.
Baad Mowlaanaa Haazar Imaam-e farmaavyun:
Then Mawlana Hazar Imam made a Farman:
Pachhi te arab-e Rasulullaah-ne kahyun ke, tame-e amne farmaavyun
ke, khudaavand taa-aalaa- e tamne namaaj paddvaa maatte
farmaavyun chhe, te farmaan amo-e kabul karyun ane tamo-e te
saache-saachun kahyun hatun; tyaar baad tamo-e amne rojaa maatte
farmaavyun ane te pann, tamo-e kahyun ke aa saachaa farmaan
chhe, te pann amo-e kabul karyun; tyaar pachhi tamo-e farmaavyun
ke, jakaat aapvi yaane khums aapvi; te pann tamo-e saachun kahyun
ane ame kabul thayaa; fari-thi tamo-e haj-naa maatte farmaan
karyaa te pann tamo-e saachaa kahyaa jethi ame kabul thayaa;
Then that Arab said to the Messenger of Allah that you had told us (given Farman)
that: God (Allah) has given the Farman for you to say Namaz; that Farman we
accepted and you had said that truthfully. Thereafter you told us (gave Farman) for
fasting and that too you said is a true Farman and that too we accepted. Thereafter
you said to give zakat (charity) meaning give khums (one-fifth) and that too you said
truthfully and we accepted. Again you made Farman for haj (pilgrimage) and that too
you did truthfully which we accepted.
Aatt-aattlun karvaa chhataan, tamne santosh na thayo ane amaaraa
upar bhaar naakhi jaa-o chho ane tamaaraa kaakaa-naa farjand-ne
amaaraa upar Moulaa kari-ne nimi jaa-o chho;
Even after doing all this, you were not satisfied and are leaving a burden upon us
and appointing the son of your uncle as our Mawla.
Te arab-e kahyun ke, aa tamaaraa kaakaa-naa farjand Ali-no bhaar
amne sompi jaa-o chho, te shun tamne khudaa-no hukam chhe; ke
tamaaraa potaa-naa khyaal-thi tamaaraa kaakaa-naa farjand-ne
sompi jaa-o chho;
That Arab said that you are entrusting after you this burden of your uncle’s son, is
that an order of God for you or are you by your own thought entrusting your uncle’s
son after you?
Tyaare Paygambar Muhammad Mustafaa-e farmaavyun ke, khudaa-
naa hukam vagar ame ek pann kaam kartaa nathi ane khudaa-naa
hukam vagar ame jaraa jettlun pann boltaa nathi;
Then Prophet Muhammad Mustafa made a Farman that without the order of God we
(I) do not even do one action and without the order of God we (I) do not even open
our mouth to speak.
Tyaare te arab untt par savaar thai-ne chaalyo gayo; te vakhte te
ghanno gusaa-maa hato; rastaa-maa chaaltaa-chaaltaa, gusaa-maa
khudaa-ne kahyun ke, Yaa Khudaa! Agar te amaaraa upar Murtazaa
Ali-ne nimi javaa-nu farmaan Paygambar-ne karyun hoy, to te kartaa
amaaraa upar pathar-no varsaad varshaav, to te sahan karvaa
maatte ame khushi chhi-e;
After that, the Arab got on his camel and went away. At that time he was very angry.
While on his way, angrily he said to God: Oh God, if you have told (given farman to)
the Prophet to appoint upon us Murtaza Ali after him, then it would be better if you
sent rain of stones upon me; I would be happy to endure.
Mowlaanaa Haazar Imaam-e farmaavyun:
Mawlana Hazar Imam made a Farman:
Tej vakhte aasmaan maa-thi ek pathar te arab upar padd-yo jethi te
jahnam-maa daakhal thayo;
At that instant, a stone from the heavens fell on that Arab and he entered hell.
Baad Mowlaanaa Haazar Imaam-e farmaavyun:
Then Mawlana Hazar Imam made a Farman:
Kayaamat-maa Murtazaa Ali tamaaraa safaayat karnaar thashe ane
tamaaro haath pakddi-ne, potaa-ni saathe bahest-maa lai jashe ane
je koi moman hashe tene hoje kousar-nu paanni pivddaav- she;
Insha’Allah!
On the Day of Judgement, Murtaza Ali will become your petitioner and will take you
by your hand and take you personally to heaven, and whoever is moman (true
believer) he will get them to drink the water of Houz-e-Kausar, Insha’Allah (God
willing).
