Eastern Canada religious work visit and all Canada Didars

Post by Admin »

There is a visit in a couple of weeks of Mowlana Hazar Imam to Eastern Canada

Usually the Imam sends a Talika to announce his visit. We do not know about the Talika but there was an announcement yesterday in JK which you can read here if you missed it.

Here is the announcement from LIF.

One visit for Mehmani/Mahdan/BK is in Montreal and the other in Toronto. The Jamat of Maritimes Provinces and of Ottawa, Kingston, Hamilton will join with the Montreal Jamat.

Expected dates are the same as those circulating in the 3 months old rumours. This is not the Diamond Jubilee Darbars. The Diamond Jubilee Darbars will happen in 2008.

Mawlana Hazar Imam to meet with Jamats of Eastern Canada

The Leaders’ International Forum (LIF) announced Friday that Mawlana Hazar Imam will visit Canada in November this year. In addition to presiding over the inaugural Global Centre for Pluralism (GCP) Award ceremony in Ottawa and attending meetings of the GCP Board, Mawlana Hazar Imam will meet with Eastern Canada Jamats in the jurisdictions of the Councils of Ontario, Ottawa, Quebec, and Maritime Provinces.

The announcement included the recommendation that large Jamati gatherings should be avoided during these Imamat visits and therefore, access will be restricted to the jurisdiction Jamats. Members from other parts of Canada and abroad are respectfully requested to refrain from travelling to Eastern Canada in the expectation of being able to participate.

Mawlana Hazar Imam will continue to grant further visits to as many Jamats as possible during the Jubilee year. Mawlana Hazar Imam's Diamond Jubilee visit to Canada will be scheduled in 2018, at which time he will meet with the Jamats of Western Canada also.

The.Ismaili, the official website of the Ismaili Muslim community, will provide updates to the global Jamat before, during, and after these visits. To stay informed of all the latest news, follow us on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat) and sign up for email updates.

SENT AS RECEIVED.....

MHI Visit to Canada
Synopsis
Sunday October 29, 2017
Diamond Jubilee Mubarak!

xxxxx and I were blessed today to have the opportunity to meet with representatives from the National Leadership which included VP Karima, National Itreb Chair Kabir, Itmadi Mohammed as well as the local Leadership, current and past.

We were the only ones present from our respective families in Edmonton so we thought we would relay the information shared with us.
Point form:

-Information will be shared as soon as the Leadership receives it just as it happened Friday evening. News will be heavily relayed via Social Media so Information is quickly updated. Use The.Ismaili website. Use the link there to download the App.

-The visit to the Canadian Jamat will be in 2 parts. Jamati work for the Eastern Jamat in November 2017. No dates finalized. This will be a Mulaqat and not a Darbar. MHI will wear a suit, and not a Jaboh(ceremonial robe) and undertake memani on behalf of each of the JKs in that jurisdiction, Ism e asm for those over 18, and Mahadhan chaanta for those over 75 years of age. Exceptions for chaanta for terminally ill patients will be granted if the Murids are living in that jurisdiction. Students studying in Canada have an option to do either East or West.

There will be no registration offered for those travelling to Canada from the US or abroad. MHI has specifically indicated that the gatherings should be for those living in the jurisdiction and travel is not advised.
-The visit in 2018 to Canada will be a Jubilee visit (which could mean Darbar or something else) plus the Western Mulaqat. The same ceremonies will be undertaken.

-Itmadi placed great emphasis on the Din/spiritual preparation of the Canadian Jamat for these visits to our Country. This can begin with the upcoming Bait-ul-Khayal Satado. Remember, MHI has agreed to take on Jamati visits in addition to all the Diamond Jubilee work and his
Regular work commitments. InNovember, he will be in Canada for approximately 10 days so we can probably expect the same in 2018. For this we should be very grateful and say Shukar. As a Canadian Jamat we are very blessed and Shukrana tasbhi will be recited regularly during daily Jamatkhane Services .

-Celebrations will be kept to a minimum because it is a Mulaqat combined with Jamati work, not a darbar. The decorations will be similar to a Jamatkhane setting, not like July 2017. This will be reflected in a simple set up in Fatimid Colours.

-To prepare for this historic visit, we, as a Jamat should be always mindful of the blessings of Mowla. Everything he does is for our happiness. Mowla says he is most happy when the Jamat is happy. So always smile and remember Allah. Say your dua, say Shukar and Zikr tasbhi and this spiritual happiness will be passed on to all our spiritual brothers and sisters. It is the Seva and blessings of our Forefathers that has blessed our families today. This Canadian visit will bless our families for generations to come.
-There will be waezs, reflections, ginan with meaning and zikr tasbhi to express our Shukrana for this visit with the Canadian Jamat.

Mubaraki to everyone.
Love

Ismailis of Eastern Canada and their upcoming holy encounter with their beloved 49th Imam, His Highness the Aga Khan

Lets us make the visit of Mawlana Hazar Imam a fantastic and happy one for us and our families, particularly our parents and children

His Highness the Aga Khan, or Mawlana Hazar Imam as he is affectionately and respectfully addressed by his Ismaili Muslim community, will be meeting with tens of thousands of his followers living in Eastern Canada — an area stretching from Windsor in Ontario to Montreal in Quebec to Halifax and beyond in the Maritime Provinces — for religious gatherings in Toronto and Montreal from November 17 – 21, 2017.

The Ismailis use the term didar (lit. to have a glimpse of the Imam of the Time) for these intimate religious mulaqats (meetings or encounters). The didar with the Imam can be on an individual basis, in small or large settings or in ceremonial gatherings that are referred to as darbars. Most recently, His Highness visited the Ismailis in Uganda and Tanzania and graced them with darbars as part of his Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Ismailis throughout their rich and eventful 1400 year history, from the time of the first Imam, Hazrat Ali, have sought to articulate their experiences of the didar of their Imams through oral expressions of ginans, qasidas, poetry and songs as well wonderful narratives. These varied expressions have become sources of inspiration for Ismailis leading up to the moment of the didar.

Today, we commence the publication of a series consisting of short articles that we hope will contribute to making the mulaqat with Mawlana Shah Karim more meaningful and purposeful. Our material will center on the concept of Imamat as articulated in Ismaili and related Shia literature and we will also include stories and accounts of didars well as supplications from the oral traditions and other pertinent material.

We begin the series with what we feel is an important ethic that will help us benefit during Mawlana Hazar Imam’s coming holy visit: FORGIVENESS.

new announcement from Council of Canada and Request

Post by mahebubchatur »

NEW Announcement by Canada National Council Below)

REQUEST FOR CLARIFICATION TO COUNCIL -LIF & FEEDBACK

Request for clarification and for All Murids who come to be welcomed to Join the main Deedar (even if standing with dignity & decorum outside or on the street)

• All Murids who come can be welcomed to come to Deedar (as in the past).
1. There is no Farman from Hazar Imam that Murids must not come for this deedar.
2. LIF & Canada Council do not want Murids to come, and so they are recommending and refusing.

• They give 2 main reasons to refuse and exclude Murids to this momentous epochal deedar

1. They want to give the Local Jamat (murids) an Intimate experience
 This is an attempt to exclude and divide. This should never be a reason to exclude any murid from any deedar, let alone a Diamond Jubilee epochal Deedar
2. They want to avoid Large gatherings
 This has never been an issue in Canada in, and since the Golden Jubilee).

• Council on the other hand is encouraging the Western Canada Jamat to Participate as one Jamat ? where possible
“We encourage the Western Canada Jamat to also participate in the journey and preparation, wherever possible, in the spirit of “One Jamat”

• Regarding the Jamati Work - Religious ceremonies of mehmani, Abe Shafa, Madhan Chanta, Bol, & Majalis’s.
1. Most are collective and can be done as in the past in sections of the Hall
2. If any one of them is individual, one to one. Then Local Jamat being given a preference is understandable. Only if one to one and not collective.

Refusing and blocking Murids is a “Na Farmani ” Please read the significance & meaning of Deedar, with related Farmans Link http://ismaili.net/source/didar-meaning.pdf

COUNCIL ANNOUNCEMENT BELOW

The Jamati Institutions convey warmest mubaraki to all Jamati members on the news of Mawlana Hazar Imam's visit to Canada later this month. The Mulaqat in Toronto will take place on November 17, 18, 19 and 20. The Mulaqat in Montreal will take place on November 21. Additional information will be shared with the Jamat once registration closes and plans are finalized.
Please note that these mulaqats will only be for Jamati members who are residents of jurisdictions under the Council for Ontario, the Council for Ottawa and the Council for Quebec and the Maritimes. The Council for Canada has received inquiries from residents of Western Canada and other countries, who may have families in Eastern Canada, as to the feasibility of attending these ceremonies.
Please note that the Jamati work Mawlana Hazar Imam has consented to perform is restricted to members of the faith who are residents in Eastern Canada, and who fall under the jurisdiction of those Councils.
Therefore, we respectfully request residents of Western Canada and of other countries not travel to Toronto and Montreal with the expectation that they will be able to participate.
This will help ensure an intimate experience for the resident Jamat, and avoid large Jamati gatherings in as far as possible.
We appreciate the Jamat’s understanding and look forward to and look forward to Mawlana Hazar Imam’s mulaqat to Western Canada in 2018, and for the success of this historic visit.
As we prepare for Mawlana Hazar Imam’s presence in Canada, extensive preparations are underway to help ensure a peaceful and fulfilling experience for all murids.
We encourage the Western Canada Jamat to also participate in that journey and preparation, wherever possible, in the spirit of OneJamat and in preparation for their own Mulaqat, inshallah, in 2018.

Mawlana Hazar Imam departs Canada

Mawlana Hazar Imam concluded a nine-day visit to Canada where he spent a significant amount of time with the Jamat in Eastern Canada.

His first stop was in Ottawa where he presided over the inaugural Global Pluralism Award and attended a meeting of the board of directors of the Global Centre for Pluralism. Thereafter, Hazar Imam travelled to Toronto where, over a span of four days, he met with the Jamat under the jurisdiction of the Council for Ontario. He concluded his visit in Montreal where he met with members of the Jamat residing in Ottawa, Quebec, and the Maritime provinces.

Upon his departure from Montreal on 22 November AKDN Resident Representative Dr Mahmoud Eboo, Ismaili Council for Canada President Malik Talib, and other Jamati leaders bade him farewell.

President Talib remarked that Mawlana Hazar Imam expressed his gratitude to the countless volunteers who, through their service, demonstrated the values and ethics of the faith — of generosity and unity — that are also representative of the Canadian spirit.

Perhaps in countries with large Muslim population, it would be justified to abstain from some celebration and large gathering.

Our Imam has given Didar during the month of Ramadan and the month of Mohram. He does not have any objection.

It is the leaders, some of them, who object and refuse to organise Didar in those months.

Nowadays with the return of paranoia and shariah all over the place, some even refuse to perform wedding in those months, though that there is no Farman to this effect.

Good point, in that case it looks very unlikely unless of course they can organize all the food related activities in the evenings.

Sorry to say, but from Mulaqats of Hazar Imam last year, we have experienced that Canada jamat/leaders are not very generous. So I think this Ramadhan period would be perfect for them. They don’t need to spend a dime on food related activities ! Lol!

Let’s see if our Beloved Mowla agrees to their requested dates.
