AKDN group of companies are a part of the Aga Khan community's Consitutional entities. The Ismaili constitution is for the benefit and governance of the Aga Khan Ismaili community and the community resources.

"The AKDN works in 30 countries around the world. It employs approximately 80,000 people, the majority of whom are based in developing countries.

Two of the main Ismaili constitutional entities are DJI and DDA (the Department of the community - Jamati and Diplomatic affairs), which are Headed by Shafik Sachedina and Arif Lalani with others.
