Miscellaneous Ginans With Translations

Saacho Dhiyaavo-ne Ginaan Vichaaro

Eji Saacho dhiaavo-ne ginaan vichaaro,
bhaai Gur binaa ginaan na hoy;
murakh loke maram na jaanneo,
bhai te maatte karanni khoy 1

O brother! Follow the truth and reflect and contemplate upon Ginans. O brother, Without the Guide there is no wisdom and knowledge. The foolish people did not understand the secret (mystery), therefore O brother! They squandered their earnings.

Eji Baava hiraa parakhiye ghan eransun
ane ratan parakhiye punam chandra jot
tem munivar parakhiye imansun
evi karanie amrapuri hot 2

O brother! As a diamond is evaluated with the beating of hammer on the anvil and a gem is evaluated in the light of the full moon, in the same manner a believer is tested by his faith. By such deeds is the eternal abode obtained.

Eji Men bolaavun men chalaavun,
ane men khilaavun sab khenn;
me khilaavun ne me pilaavun,
bhaai umat saari jahaan 3

O brother! I cause speech and I cause walking and I cause everyone to eat. O brother! I cause the enitre humanity to eat and cause them to drink.

Eji Men aachaari ne men vichaari,
men akal daun aap;
eto maatti kere putale,
tene men japaavun jaap 4

O brother! I am the capacity for action and I am the capacity for intelligence and contemplation and I myself grant intelligence. I cause the idol of clay (human being) to remember (the name of God).

Eji Men kartaa ne men hartaa,
ane avarthi kuchhu na hoy;
ek til rehemat me choddun,
to pathar bole soy 5

O brother! I myself am the one in charge, no one else is capable of doing anything. If I reveal or release as much as a speck of mercy and blessing, then stones would begin to talk (have the power of speech).

Eji Kaache haande nir na raheve,
maanhe jal bhartaa gali jaay;
tem be-imaani bahesht na paave,
vann agne sohaag na thaay 6

O brother! In a raw earthen pot water does not remain, as soon as it is filled with water it dissolves. In this manner, a faithless man cannot obtain paradise, without fire (gold) cannot shine.

Eji Te gaafal-ne sudh nav suji,
tenne nindhraae khoyo aap;
tene kaal have daabeo,
tene ddasio te kaalio naag 7

O brother! That oblivious (one) did not acquire sense, he wasted his life in slumber. The influence of time overcame him, a black snake bit him.

Eji Jene naag ddasio tene zaher chaddio,
te be aankhe aandhlo thaay;
tiyaan bahu gaaruddi aavi mile,
pann Sat Gur vinaa zaher nav jaay 8

O brother! Whoever is stung by a snake is poisoned and both his eyes are blinded. There many (people) who can counteract (the effects of) a snake bite will come and meet but without the True Guide the effects of the poison will not vanish.

Eji Aaj saacho gaaruddi Sat Gur chhe,
ane te saacho Gur kahevaay;
jenne chaud bhamann sirjeaa,
te Gur Sat Panth vinaa nahi paay 9

O brother! Today the one who can truly counteract the effect of poison is the True Guide and he alone is known as the True Guide. The one who created the fourteen realms, that Guide cannot be attained without the Satpanth (true path).

Eji Thoddaa maanhe bohot-j paaie,
tame karo saburi moman bhaai;
tame jikare jaage jivddo,
ane sat ni karo kamaai 10

O brother! In little you will obtain or attain much. O believer brother! Be patient. O living being! Be awake in remembrance and perform rewarding deeds.

Eji Bhanne Pir Imaam Shaah sunno munivaro,
tame ginaan vichaaro aap;
ghatt maa(n)e khajaanaa bohot hay,
tame kunchi karo apne haath 11

O brother! Sayyed Imam Shah teaches: listen O believers! Reflect and contemplate upon the Ginans. There is great treasure in the heart, obtain the keys in your hands.

Uthi allah na gur e bandhaa

Post by kmaherali »

Uthi allah na gur e bandhaa

Eji Uthi Allah na Gur-e bandaa tun sutay saji raat,
nakaa jori jivji banaa nakaa samar saath
Shaah jo mandiaddo tini key jen ke subhudday jaagan;
subhudday na jaagiyaa ten key huraaun na indhiyun hath,
se haay haay kandhaa hath hunnidaa, jin hari vinnai-vatr Shaah ....1

O man! You did not wake up in the morning and remembered Allah but slept the whole night. Neither you cared for the soul nor prepared any provision to take along. Only those earn the pleasure of the Lord who wake up in the morning. Those who do not wake up in the morning will not receive the hurries. They will repent and wring their hands like those farmers who lost the season of sowing.

Eji Baanaa tojo takiyo yaaraa, khandhaann me kudd
pasi rataa guldda yaar ma vina hij mudd Shaah jo 2

O man! You have wrongly made your abode in thorns. Do not forget the reality (do not lose your capital) by looking at the red flowers.

Eji Baanaa tojo takiyo yaaraa, khandhan me kiyo
jade sinchaannu sur kain yaar, tade samario Shaah jo 3

O man! You have made your abode in the thorns. When the pinch of it pained then you remembered.

Eji Kapatiyan katiyun yaara, jade sutaa lok
teni panjy katey vidho, gichi gaado thok Shaah jo 4

O man! The spinning women spun when others were asleep. They prepared a valuable red cloth and wore it around their neck.

Eji Jeddo ni teddo agiyo yaaraa, hundh kate aiy
poy subhaani saratieh vich, mili marke aay Shaah jo 5

O man! They spun in whatever way they could and it was accepted. Wearing it they joined their friends merrily in the morning.

Eji Kothaa mandap maadiyun, ghar ghoddaa ne bhandaar
ke- naa niya paanisay yaara, jiv chalantey vaar Shaah jo 6

O man! Palaces, Shamyanas, buildings, horses and treasures. None have carried them along at the time of the departure of the soul.

Eji Bhanne Pir Sadardin, aanhi sunno moman vir
Alakh truto tini key, jinni sunnyaataa Shaah Pir Shaah jo 7

O man!Pir Sadardin (r.a.) says: O momin listen! The Lord pleases with those who recognize the Imam and the Pir.

Ho ho kartaa hoy gayaa - Ginan - Pir Sadardin

Post by kmaherali »

Ho ho kartaa hoy gayaa

Eji Ho ho kartaa hoi gayaa,
hotaa na laage vaar;
faani duniaa jaannie,
kaljug hae din chaar 1

O brother! It came into existence like that and it takes no time to happen. Consider this existence to be fleeting. The present era (Kaljug) is of four days ( is of short period).

Eji Gur kaa kaheaa tame kijie,
kartaa na laavo vaar;
dasond dije Gur paave,
munivar ho saachaa yaar 2

O brother! Act according to the teachings of the Guide, and do not procrastinate in that. Submit the tithe to the Guide and become a true friend (of the Guide).

Eji Maarag laagiaa jaag-jo,
sutaa na leso didaar;
satiaa sat bhaav sun,
viraa bhaai te paave didaar 3

O brother! Having found or attained the path, remain awake or vigilant. You will not obtain the Deedar (Vision) by sleep or neglect. The truthful ones through true love and devotion, O dear ones, will attain the Deedar.

Eji Pahoraa aayaa Shaah kaa,
chadde Husseni ho savaar;
em boleaa Sat Gur Soho Dev
munivar ho hushiyaar 4

O brother! The era of the Imam has arrived. The progeny of Imam Husein will rise and mount (be manfest). The Divine Guide (Pir Sadardeen) has spoken: "O believers, remain intelligent and vigilant."

Ho Jire bhaai re aal par naari sun man raakho upwaas
to tamne Shaaha jino vaaso vase 3

O my brother! Control your heart from being delighted with someone else's woman. Then you will go and habitate with the Imam.

O my brother! Pir Sadardeen says that all this is true. If you have virtuous deeds of the past, then you will drink the holy nector.

Jibiya indri ekaj naar (verses from Khat Nirinjan)

Post by kmaherali »

Jibiya indri ekaj naar (verses from Khat Nirinjan)

Jibiya indri ekaj naar,
Jo baande so ootre paar 221

Tongue is the only sense, which, one who controls, succeeds.

Indri thar vina paap na jaay,
Paap gaya vina soodh na thaay 222

Without controlling senses sins cannot be eliminated, and without eliminating the sins none can become pure.

Soodh thaya vina santokh na hoy,
Santokh vina bhagti na hoy223

Without being pure, contentment cannot be attained and without contentment devotion is not possible.

Bhagti vina koi joogti na paay,
Joogti vina koi moogti na thaay224

Without devotion, no one can find the path; without the path no one can attain salvation.

Moogti vina amrapoori na jaay,
Amar thaya vina didar na thaay225

Without salvation no one can reach eternal abode (paradise); without being immortal no one can attain Deedar (Vision).

Jyaan soodhi taara man maahen praan,
Saas usaas levoo Ali nu naam226

As long as there is life in your being, upon every breath remember Ali's name.

Pir Sadardeen boliya sat vachan,
eh khat Nirinjan eh darshan259

Pir Sadardeen has spoken the truth: O brother! This is Khat Nirinjan (six paths) leading to God.

Shah na darshan thi jaave paap,
Alakh Nirinjan aapo hi aap260

By Imam's Deedar sins get washed away and he becomes clean and pure by himself like the Indescribable and the Unseen.

Eji Aal nabiu tamkun bhejeaa,

nimaaj bandagi kalmaan hae,
eh hae niaamat chij 2

O brother! The progeny of the Prophet has been sent for you in this world. Prayer, Bandagi and Kalima are blessings.

Eji Nabi to jivun kaa daataar hay,
jenne kalmaa sunnaayaa;
je moman maanse te bahesti hovege,
baaki gaafal bhulaa gemaar 3

O brother! The Prophet is the savior of the souls who recited the Kalima.Those momins who accept it will enter paradise and the neglient will go astray.

Eji Het prit man bhaavsun;
tame jampo alaah rasul;
kalmaa kaho dhil paak sun,
to kul vigan hove dhur 4

O brother! With love, adoration and from the depth of your heart take the name of Allah and the Messenger. Recite the Kalima with a pure heart then all difficulties will be removed.

Eji Bin kalme bandagi kare,
te to bandagi suni saar;
te jem nit utth raahaa chalannaa,
aakhar ujadd vaas 5

O brother! The Bandagi without the Kalima is void, as if one treads a path daily but ultimately reaches a wasteland.

Eji Ali Nabi kun dhiaai-e,
tame sunno moman vaat;
kalmaa kaho dil saach sun,
nahi to aakhar kaali raat 6

O momin brother! Listen to this, obey Hazarat Ali and the Prophet. Recite the Kalima from the depth of your heart otherwise the result will be dark night.

Eji Jis mukhe kalmaa nahi kaheaa nabi kaa,
ane nahi kaheyaa pukaar;
tene undhe mustak ttaang-se,
ane jaaise dojak ke darbaar 7

O brother! The one who did not proclaim the Kalima of the Prophet openly, will be hung upside down and he will go to hell.

Eji Jis mukhe kalmaa nahi kaheaa nabi kaa,
ane nahi jaaneeyaa naam;
tenaa mukh maae esaa bhatthun khaaegaa,
tenu dhojak maae tthaam 8

O brother! The one who did not recognise the name of the Prophet and did not recite the Kalima, the scorpions will bite his tongue and his abode will be in hell.

Eji Jenne kalmaa sunneaa nabi kaa,
ane kadd maae nabi kabul;
tenaa mukh maae anbharat bharsataa paavegaa,
ane dhojakh-thi karse dur 9

O brother! The one who heard the Kalima of the Prophet and accepted him in the present era, nectar will flow from his mouth and he will be saved from hell.

Eji Naam nabikaa mitthaa hai,
jesaa saakar ne dudh;
kalmaa kaho dil saach sun,
to bandho safaaiyat mul 10

O brother! The name of the Prophet is as sweet as sugar and milk. If you recite the Kalima with a pure heart you will receive the blessings of intercession.

Eji Kalmaa kahore momano,
ma karo jug ki kaann;

O brother! Recite the Kalima and do not care about the world, otherwise you will be suddenly whisked away and will surely go to hell.

Eji Paanch vikheaa man vas karo,
tame moman dil raakho tham;

O brother! Control the five poisonous vices of your self and O momins keep your heart steady. Hell will be forbidden to him who recite the Kalima with a pure heart.

Eji Moman dil me karo bandagi,
to fal Allah, Ali nabi kaa paao;
kalme kunchi lekar tamaari,

O momin brother! If you will worship in your heart you will receive the blessings of Allah, Hazarat Ali and the Prophet. Take the key of the Kalima and open the lock of your heart and see.

Eji Man nirmal kari srev-jo,

moman kun kalmaa mitthaa laage,
jesaa lobhi kun hay mitthaa daam 14

O brother! Remember His name after purifying your heart and always take the name of Allah and the Prophet. The Kalima seems as sweet to a momin as wealth seems sweet to the greedy.

Eji Moman kalmaa kaho dil saach sun,
ane jutth baaji choddo;
maayaa sun man dur karo,
tame het prit saaheb jisun raakho 15

O momin brother! Recite the Kalima with a true heart and forsake falsehood and deceit. Keep your heart away from the love of the world and love and adore the Imam.

Eji Kalmaa kahore momano,
tame mat raakho vikh;
nahi to kaal-j bhaavraa,
nahi to aa kuddi duniyaa maan ttingaavso nit 16

O momin brother! Recite the Kalima and do not foster poison (evil) in your heart, otherwise the angel of death will keep you hanging in this deceitful world forever.

Eji Karnni ete rehenni hoiye,
ane hak ki rotti khaaiy;
bhaai tab rojaa nimaaj kabul hove,
ane bahest maay jaai bhaai 17

O brother! Perform good deeds and eat the morsel from your lawful earnings, O brother! Only then will your prayer and fasting be accepted and you will go to paradise.

Eji Kalme sun kaptti ne paanch vas nahi,
ane kuddi najre joie;
kalme tanni kimat murakh na buje,
te kem kari bahesti hoy 18

O brother! One who denies the Kalima, does not control the five vices and looks with evil eyes, such a foolish one does not realize the worth of the Kalima, then how can he be the habitant of paradise?

Eji Kalme tanni kimat jo bujie,
to Allah, nabi dhiaaie joie;
man kun maare ho rahie
to sahi bahesti hoie 19

O brother! If you wish to know the worth of the Kalima, then obey Allah and the Prophet. Control your lower mind (annihilate your ego), then you will truly be the habitant of paradise.

Eji Dhan te desh nabikaa,
ane jenne najare sun ditthaa;
jis sanfdhame nabiji betthaa,
te sabh bahest me jaai bhaai 20

O brother! Praise be to the country of the Prophet and to those who witnessed it. All those who were lined up with the Prophet (devoted to him) will go to paradise.

Eji Jis chambh maay nabiji betthaa,
ane kalmaa kahi sunnaayaa;
te moman upar hun balhaari,
jenne didaar nabikaa paayaa 21

O brother! The court where the Prophet sat and recited the Kalima, I would sacrifice my life for him who received the deedar of the Prophet.

Eji Dhan te maat pitaa kun,

O brother! Recite the Kalima of the Messenger which will destroy all sins and poisons. All existence will perish and what will remain are Allah and his Messenger.

tenu dojak maay ttham 24

O brother! The mouth that did not pronounce the Kalima of the Prophet and did not recognize his name, will be the mouth full of marsh of iron and fire and the person's abode will be in hell.

Eji Jis mukh kalmaa nahi kahiyaa nabikaa,
ane tis mukhe leti aag;
kalme sun jo bahesti hoiye,
to fal paave darud da safaaiyat 25

O brother! The mouth that did not pronounce the Kalima, is the mouth which will be on fire. Through Kalima he will be the habitant of paradise and will be rewarded the fruits of the intercession of Salwaat.

Eji Aagal jaataa kem bhavsaagar aadaro,
ebhi jug maahe jutthi vaat,
jenaa mukh maa kalmaa nahi,
tene aagal aag sangaati 26

O brother! Ahead how will you cross over the limits of the ocean of material existence (without the Kalima?). It is not possible in this world. In whose mouth the there is no Kalima, fire will be his companion ahead.

Eji Poraa aayaa Ali Shaah kaa,
ane dharti maange bhog;

O brother! The time has arrived of Imam Ali and the earth demands sacrifice. Many will be slayed by the sword and the remaining will perish of diseases.

tame juo juo ilam maanhe ji 5

O courageous brother! The one who engages in backbiting will go to hell, see it over and over in wisdom and knowledge.

E viraa bhaai,
ilam kaa kaheaa koi na kare,

O courageous brother! The one who does not act according to knowledge and wisdom, o brother, he acts according to his hearts desires.

E viraa bhaai,

tame cheti chaalo moman bhaai ji 7

O courageous brother! I restrain you repeatedly o momins, proceed carefully o momin brother.

E viraa bhaai,
bhannat Imaam din kahe
Pir Kabirdin,

O courageous brother! Sayyed Imam shah teaches that Pir Hasan Kabirdeen has said: o brother, perform rewarding deeds for yourself.

********
Jiv-ni chintaa have karo

Eji Jiv ni chintaa have karo
ane karnni karo tame saar;
Sat Panth saachi vaat chhe
tame saachaa chaalo nirdhaar 1

O brother! Be concerned about the soul now, and perform pure deeds. Satpanth is the true path, walk on it truly and steadily.

Eji Tame dil baandho saachaa saanhi sun,
jennne sirjiyaa sarve sansaar;
man maari durijan dur karo,
to sare tamaaraa kaaj 2

O brother! Attach your hearts to the true Beloved, the one who created the entire world. Slaying your mind, shun the devil Satan, then all your tasks will be simplified.

Eji Durijan bhundho te sahu upar suro,
tene dil thi raakho dur;
panj-bhu maari jikar-e jaag-so
to sahi varse saaheb-jinu noor 3

O brother! The vulgar Satan has control over everyone, keep him away from your heart. Slaying the five evils, if you remain awake in remembrance (zikr), then the Light of the Imam will pour.

Eji Noor varse to dil paak rahe,
jo hove thir puro imaan;
jo imaan-sun chaalo ne aap gaalo,
bhaai saaheb-sun raakho dhiyaan 4

O brother! When the Light pours the heart remains pure, if faith is complete and firm. If you proceed faithfully and annihilate your mind (lower self), o brother, then retain your attention upon the Imam (his guidance).

Eji Dhiyaan lagaavo tame saaheb-sun,
have raakho aap-nnu aap;
tame prem pidaa ridheh dharo,
bhaai jampo ajampiyaa jaamp 5

O brother! Concentrate your attention upon the Imam and keep to yourself now. Arouse the pain (tears) of love in your hearts, o brother, repeat the unuttered name.

Eji Jaap japo ne dhir raakho,
ane abhimaan na aanno man;
jo kudd kapatt tame parharo
to paamsho Shaah nu darshan 6

O brother! Repeat the name and be patient (humble) and do not retain any pride in your mind. If you eliminate fraud and deceit, then you will attain the Vision of the Imam.

Eji Tame chaaho darshan Shaah nu,
to sir dharo utaar;
piyu piyu hardam kijiye
rati duniyaa-sun na raakhiye pyaar 7

O brother! If you crave for the Deedar of the Imam, then severe your head and submit it. Upon every breath perform Beloved Beloved. Do not retain the slightest love for the world.

Eji Duniyaa sansaar ek til chhe
ane jevo sapnutar jaann;
iyu kari dil sun dekhiyen
bhaai ek din marvun chhe nirvaann 8

O brother! The worldly existence is transcient, just as a dream. In this manner envision through the heart, for o brother one day you will have to die.

Eji Te marnne pahelaa tame mari ne chaalo
ane dharati gunn raakho aap;
Sat Gur vachane tame thir raho
to dil kaa jaave sarve paap 9

O brother! Before dying walk along as if you are dead (to the world), and retain earthly qualities within yourselves. Remain firm upon the commands of the True Guide, then all the sins of the heart will disappear.

Eji Bhanne Pir Imaam Shaah sunno munivaro
tame raakho piyu sun het;
piyu sun pattuntaro rati nav raakhiye
jem bhaadarve hariyaa het 10

O brother! Sayyed Imam Shah teaches: listen o believers, retain love for the Beloved. Do not treat anything else alike the Beloved (in your love), just as the fields are constantly refreshed lush green by rain.

O brother! Do not retain any burden of impurity, the Guide admonishes thus.

O brother! Sayyed Imam Shah announces such a lovely Ginan. O momins! live cautiously.

Good idea. Open a new thread and name it Shams Tabriz - Divan - Diwan

I am sure you will have lot of feedback. Do not start a discussion on this topic here, this is the wrong thread for mixing Tabriz.

The word 'paar' means limits or other side of the ocean of material existence. Hence both words would have the same meaning.

Mowlana Rumi explained our existence as an ocean. We are all travelling in 'boats' of our individual bodies/paths. The ocean can help us reach our destiny if we correctly journey towards it; or it can sink us if we do not journey in a correct manner.

In verses of Saloko Nano, Pir Sadardeen States:

satgur kahere: sansaar saagar mahaa jal ha-e
ane sir upar bharyaa chhe bhaar
jo satkee naav maanhe besee-e
to satgur utaare paar re.........................18

The True Guide says: The ocean of the world, has indeed a lot of water(one cannot swim across it by himself), and there is a heavy burden(of material responsibilities) on the head. If one sits in the boat of truth, than the True Guide will take you across.

satgur kahere: naav keeje har ke naam kee
ane te maanhe saachaa bharee-e bhaar
pavan jo chaale prem kaa
to satgur utaare paar re.........................19

The True Guide says: Let the outward form of the boat be the name of the Lord, and fill it with the true load(good deeds). When the wind of love blows over, the True Guide will take you across.

To kmaherali:Ya ALI madad.

Paar is the other side of imaginary finishing line or accomplishments ( bedaa).
The beauty of this Ginan ,it seek salvation of the soul and as well seek grace n mercy for material n life issues n problems.
For example for a student the exams are bedaa,for parents matrimonial prospect for their daughter is Bedaa or success of a store.
In my JK this ginan is at least recited once in a month in morning & evening time may be more.
I observe that the reciter is singing out of his heart and prays to ALI for immediate real life problems.
This ginan looks like a prayer to me without moving head,hand and bend the body at different angles.
My question a members .
Is this ginan recited in your JK .?
is the reciter a middle age person or a student.?
I feel one must also pray to ALI for that persons mushkil aasan who has recited that ginan.
That person is speaking to God but not disclosing its beeda to those around.
I really like the beauty of this Ginan.

Yes beddaa can mean the means of your livelihood as well so it is a prayer for easing the difficulties in our means of livelihood. It is quite a common Ginan recited on occasions of intense difficulties. I have been told that a woman who just lost her husband recited the Ginan and the whole Jamat got emotional!

How can an ignoramous be told that without the Guide how could one have an appropriate worship/devotion.

Gur Nar sevaa kaaraann tanne,

Through the service/devotion to the GurNar (Imam) one goes to the fort of eternal abode.

Thulne kem kahere kesaraa,
to Gur Nar vinaa kem rahie 3

How can a stone be called God (or how can a trunk be called saffron); then how can one live without a Guide.

Mugataa maarag no panth aagalo,
to prem tantav em paaie 4

The path of attaining the state of freedom is supreme; then achieve the substance of love in this manner.

Aatmaa heddine dije saami ne besannu,
to viraa bhaai Pir tanna hoie 5

Awaken the soul and submit it at the seat of the Lord. Then o courageous one, remain attached to the Pir.

Sukh dukh behu bani aav se,
pann radeh thi dharam na chhoddie 6

Happiness and sorrow will both come, but do not forsake the religion in your hearts.

Maanaak moti ni gaantth-jo vaalo,

Tie the knot of rubies and pearls, then stud diamonds around them.

Ginaan ami maahaaras bhanne Gur Soho Dev,

This wisdom which is the nector of great delight is spoken by Pir Sadardeen, then remember the promises made in the womb of your mother.

Ya Ali madad.
I hear this Ginan regularly, do not know its title,but two which awaken my senses are
EJI MARNAA HAI RE ZAROOR.
JUG MAAHE CETI NEE CHALO.
That death is enevitable, tread your life cautiously.
It goes for all of us.
Upon death,No soul will go unrewarded or unpunished by ALI to next form and phase of life.
So what we write and also stored by someone in this forum will be Blessings or Sins.
