Quran Translation by any Ismaili?
I am just wondering, does any one know that any Ismaili DAI, MISSIONARY,RESEARCHER,SCHOLAR ever been translated Quran in any language? if no why?
There have been many tafsirs of the Quran by our Dais in the past. For example there is Tarbiyat al-mu’minin the explanation of which is given at the IIS website:
Tarbiyat al-mu’minin
Whereas Qadi al-Nu‘man’s Da‘a’im al-Islam represents the exoteric compendium of Fatimid Ismaili law, its esoteric counterpart is the author’s Tarbiyat al-mu’minin, better known as the Ta’wil da‘a’im al-Islam. This work consists of twelve parts, each divided into ten chapters. The 120 chapters of the Ta’wil da‘a’im bear the title of ‘sessions’, and it seems as though these formed part of the ‘sessions of wisdom’ (majalis al-hikma) that al-Nu‘man held within the palace for special initiates. The pages illustrated, both written in clear naskhi scripts, are from different manuscripts of this two-volume work.

As per MSMS's Farmans below, the Ginans are the tafsir of the Quran par excellence. In that respect no further studies were necessary in the past for the Jamats influenced by the Ginanic tradition.

e Shariff and were well versed in Ginans as well, I would show each
and every verse of the Ginans in the Quran-e Shariff so that they
may explain to you. Alas, there is no such person."

Holy Ginans.
In view of the changed circumstances today, there has been a need to have a study of the tafsirs from variety of interpretations of Islam and hence we have a department of Quranic Studies at the IIS set up.

There is already two of our pious Arab Ismaili Scholars from Seryia are working on translation of the Holy Quran from IIS. Inshallah, once it done, they will publish it in 2010.
Shakir [a Bohora]' s first edition was with an Ismaili commentary. Our Brother Muslims sent him several death threats and the first translation was removed from circulation.
The second edition was like a sunni version. What do you expect, some of our brothers in Islam still prefer the camel to the Mercedes, though it does not apply to the very extremist one who are in Mercedes most of the time [while asking us to use the camels]

Translation of Holy Quran by an Ismaili?
Interesting question! o­ne of an ex-Al-waez Mr. Ghulam Ud Din Ghulam, (who is also a prominent poet) hails from Altit, Hunza, Gilgit, Pakistan and now residing in New Sultanabad, Gilgit has translated Holy Quran into 'Burushaski' a local dialect spoken in Hunza, Nager and Yasin valleys of Gilgit and presented to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani last year (2008). The Prime Minister highly appreciated his efforts to the noble cause of Islam and offered cash prize to him.
