Often when I try to practice Tasbih.....I usually wonder what to Iagine when you call out Ya Ali, YA Muhammad.....what to imagine.....what to concentrate on.....how can you increase your effectiveness of Tasbih......
these questions often make me uncomfortable.......above all.....Concentrating is a big problem for me....especially when I try to close my eyes and try to remember Mowla......from one thing another lead comes out and the next thing leads to another ...then another.....in the end I find myself......somewhere else.........
Can anyone advise me with certainity.......about what to imagine while doing Tasbih....
what is the situation that great momins put themselves in while doing Tasbih........

Concentration during Tasbih

Brother ! You are facing this problem because you do alot of work everyday, i am talking about worldly work. If any person spend too many hour's on his work or something else not attach with religion , when you start meditation you face problem in concentrating in tasbi. I had been facing this problem before but now i can easily concentrate in my tasbi , in my DUA , in Ginan , In Farman's. I can suggest u to start thinking about ur Maula or start finding ur Maula or try to get his holy deedar while taking tashi. Dont let ur brain to think about something else which will destroy your concentration. I hope it will work for you. Call Ya ali from ur soul and heart. Think about ur sins, One day you have to answer against ur sins. After all take help of Maula Ali. Always call him , Whether u are busy with ur worldly affairs. Where ever you are call him. It will help you alot brother.

Well i believe, we shouldn't focus on any Images of any person while you closes your eyes for tasbhee (e.g. Imams/Prophets/Elavated Peoples). In fact, we need to concentrate the existence of Allah in that fashion that He is here, infront of you, infact everywhere, if you are calling YA-ALI, you need to focus the NUR-E-ALI is present infront of you, this is about concentrating the experience/feeling rather concentrating on Images.
Let me give you an simple Example, e.g. you are in room, room consist of a Camera e.g. YOUR FATHER is constantly watching you from that camera. He can hear you whatever you say and you know it that he can see you, and you can not hear his voice. In Room immediatly you saw a snake, you know your father is watching you from that camera, you call him for help, "please father help me i am in trouble". Father opens a DOOR imedtiatly kill the snake (Imagine if Father wears an INVISIBLE SUIT) and after killing he went out after that Son thank his father for saving his life, knowing that his father is listening and watching.
This example has many signs, don't goto the materilistic thing in that example, rather try to understand the message. The son doesn't asking help from the camera, rather he is asking help from his father. he doesn't even need to look at the camera, because he knows his father is watching.

Hazrat Imam Sultan Mohammad Shah Said:
When you Pray; Allah Listens to you but you can not listen to him but he listens to you. (it is not the exact words but its something like that. if anyone has exact hadith please share).

Thank you all for responding to my problem....You all are right,......I have too much worldly responsiblities as well..........and I accuse my Mind for Not being able to concentrate..........I was thinking about remembering Image of Mowla while Tasbih.....but ...again my concentration would lead to another related thing/incident......Like this forum.....Like AKDN......then things start going awry......
some time back I tried to imagin my soul infront of Mowla......again...it didnt help me concentrate..........frankly speaking I am really disappointed from myself.....I cannot spend to much time on religion......practicing concentration.............I dont know whats gonna happen to me.......
I will try to implement suggestions by you pple.......Lets Hope it works....an oneday I will pray my dua with full concentration.....that day will be my Birth Day....Spiritual Birthday!

tasbih is an intention of efforts on behalf of human beings
Yes....we can try to concentrate..........But it is my conviction (may be wrong) that there is a limit ....being a human being.....coz our imaginations are based upon time and space.......is there any divine guidence....about HOW FAR we can take our imagination while practicing TASBIH.....?
I guess....tasbih is just an effort.....and we are evaluated based upon our Efforts.....NOT RESULTS.....
