I don't know if these are rumours or truth, but I am told that there are a lot of articles about Ismailism in newspapers, especially, India Times or Times of India. If so, can somebody from India please provide us the links. Thanks.

Ya Ali Madaad,

Getting a visa to Pakistan or to India by both nationals is tough but I think if it’s for the purpose of Dedaar they might not be many visa hurdles. Contact Indian High Commission in person for more details and do it right now cause visa process may take 1 day to 90 days depending on your application.

The dates are not yet decided by the bangladesh council.

But from my view it will be on 21st may.

If you are outside bangladesh go to website www.goldenjubileebangladesh.com and register there along with every member of your family.

There is one section FAQ where you will find the dates after council decide it.

FE Report

Aga Khan, Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, will be visiting Bangladesh from 19th to 22nd this month. The state visit of the Aga Khan is taking place at a time when Ismailish all over the world, including those in Bangladesh, are celebrating the golden jubilee of the Aga Khan's leadership.

Aga Khan at the age of 20 succeeded his grandfather, Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah Aga Khan on July 11, 1957. He is the 49th hereditary Imam of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims.

The head of the Shia Ismaili Muslim community is highly regarded in Bangladesh. During the visit he is expected to call on both the President and Chief Adviser and other dignitaries.

"Aga Khan, like his father, dedicated his leadership to the well-being of all Muslims, helping them overcome the challenges of tumultuous historical change," said Semin Abdullah, a high official of the Aga Khan Secretariat in France while talking to journalists in Dhaka on Wednesday.

One of the important events during the visit would be the opening of Aga Khan Academy at Bashundhara, Dhaka. "This will be one of 18 such academies in 13 countries specialised in high class education and training for teachers and students," said Semin.

The academies educate young men and women from pre-primary through higher secondary education, are located in key places of Africa and Asia. Semin Abdullah said the academies are network of catalytic centres of educational excellence around the world to prepare young men and women to grasp opportunities in the future.

The Aga Khan academies' education is built on the framework of the internationally recognised International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) programmes. The IB is highly respected for the emphasis it places on critical thinking, active learning, and creative problem solving. It is also renowned for preparing students for admission to the best universities in their own countries and abroad, Semin added.

Bombay News.Net
Friday 9th May, 2008 (IANS)
The Aga Khan, spiritual leader of Shia Ismaili Muslims, will arrive here May 12 on a seven-day, four-city visit to India.

He will be in the capital for two days, during which he will meet President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Leader of Opposition L.K. Advani.

The Aga Khan will then move on to Hyderabad, Mumbai and Ahmedabad and leave for Dhaka May 19, the ministry of external affairs said here.

The visit marks the Aga Khan's 50th year as imam of over 25 million Shia Ismailis worldwide.

The 70-year-old leader - also known as Prince Karim Aga Khan IV - succeeded his grandfather, Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah Aga Khan - at age 20 in 1957, becoming the community's 49th imam.

The Aga Khan last visited India in September 2006, when he laid the foundation of the Aga Khan Academy for Excellence in Education in Hyderabad.

Earlier, in 2004 the spiritual leader gave away the Aga Khan Award for Architecture at a presentation ceremony at Humayun's Tomb here.
