sukrit

Post by kinnare786 »

i know the meaning of sukrit, it is a sanskrit word which means good deeds. but i would really like to know the significance of sukrit that is given in jk during ghatpat ceremony. why, how and when this tradition came into being? what is the proper way to respect this tradition? many people deny to take sukrit when given. is it right thing to do? can we share sukrit with others?I relly would like the in depth explanation of all these questions.

This subject has been discussed extensively in this forum. You may search for the word 'sukreet' using the link above. In particular the following threads are noteworthy.

Rites and Ceremonies --> Sukreet

Rites and Ceremonies --> An interpretation of the Ghat Paat Ceremonies.

If you have more questions, you may raise them in those threads. In this way we can minimize scattering of information all over the forum and keep all related topics together and hence make it easier for future reference.
