building a ismaili community in mexico?

Post by bcom »

I remember, some decades ago a few Ismaili's had a vision, and there became a vibrant Ismaili community in the island of Zanzibar.

I have a similar vision, but for the country Mexico. I am an East African Ismaili currently in Canada, but I do not see my self retiring here.

Anybody interested in the idea of having and building an ismaili community in Mexico? Land is very cheap and i believe Mexico would make a great retirement haven. IMO, its quite safer than Nairobi and other areas as of late.

Any comments or ideas?

Yes, I should have said Mexico and/or Costa Rica!! Land is Costa Rica is just as cheap and and as widely available as in Mexico, with slightly better weather. Costa Rica has excellent sunshine, and good weather year round, a perfect place to retire.

My vision is to have 50 ismaili families to start off a solid community in Mexico/Costa Rica. Land and new constructions costs are cheap, (i checked up, and approxiamely 1/3 or less the price of similar Canadian real estate)

Probably even cheaper for Americans.....In the future i have a vision to put together a group of Ismailis, and maybe make some investments in building a new hotel in that area.

How about Goa? I know there are some families who are thinking of retiring in Goa.

Can you give me a timeframe of when in future you are planning to invest in Mexico? I just want to know how ahead you are thinking of.

Thanks

Hello Shamsb, would it be possible for your to drop me a line at this email:

I am also interested in overseas real estate in general, and would be thankful if you could send me an Ismaili contact on the Costa Rican condo real estate business. It would be great networking!

Yes i have looked at India as well, notably Goa. Infact, i am travelling to Goa in May with my family and would appreciate any contacts you know who are interested in real estate over there as well. If you have time, please contact my email in the above post.

My vision for Mexico/Costa Rica is basically a waiting game. I am definetly ready to invest, it's just a matter of finding enough partners. To give a good estimate, I would hope that within the next 2-3 years I would find a decent amount of partners (around 50) to seriously plan out all the costs, etc, and move forward. But this is in my definite near future.
