With all due respect, there is a difference between stealing butter as a child from the butter belonging to the women who all treated Krishna as their own son and destroying the holiest ite of Christianity. I am still not seeing what could be a justification for such a sacriledge if indeed it was or...

Dear Shams thank your for your reply. It is precisely because of the renowned tolerance of the Fatimid rulers towards other faiths that this destruction of the Holy Sepulcher contrast with the normal attitude and that it still remains a mystery to me as to why it happened. Regarding Omar ibn al Khat...

This indeed very disturbing. Why would the Fatimid Imam destroy Christianity's holiest shrine, the place where according to Christians Jesus was burried and ressurected? Destroying such an important holy place even for political reasons is very disturbing. If someone could shed some light on this ev...

Spiritual Teaching of Maulana Shah Karim Agha Khan IV

Ya Ali Madad I wanted to ask if it is possible to read some of Maulana Shah Karim Agha Khan IV's spiritual writings or transcrips of speeches on spiritual subjects. I have read and watched a great deal of his intervieuws and philanthropic speeches but I can't get hold of what really interests me, na...

You mentioned musical instruments being prohibited in prayer halls. Is this a recent thing or has it always been like that and what is the reason for it.
Again thank you for your answers.

Thank you for the responses. The ragas in which our gurbani is composed fulfill the same purpose.

I have read in another post that ginans in music were now prohibited. If that's true please tell me why.

kind regards

Ginans in Music

Ya Ali Madad! As my login name suggests I am a Sikh. I have a question regarding the Ginans and the use of music. I have read in some posts that these ginans used to be sung according to specific Hindustani ragas. I have met an Ismaili in Paris who sang one of them according to a raga in a capella m...
